Book your Trip: The Best Eats, Drinks and Live Music in Lubbock
Summer may get all the attention when it comes to travel, but no matter the season, now is the perfect time to book your next trip to Lubbock. Whether you want to experience the city like a local or a true tourist, we’ve got you covered with some ideas to add to your itinerary.
Eat
From a quick bite to a nice dinner, Lubbock has a wide array of delicious restaurants. If you’re staying at the Cotton Court Hotel or just want to start your evening downtown, grab dinner and drinks at Midnight Shift. Enjoy delectable eats and drinks while listening to fabulous local musicians. One of our favorites on the menu is the BBQ Chicken & Corn Pizza, especially paired with a Chilton!
Another spot we can’t recommend enough is La Diosa Cellars. This spot is also downtown in the iconic Depot District, and the vibes are perfect for a girls’ trip, romantic evening or upscale light bite. With cozy seating, ambient live music, amazing sangria and a unique tapas menu that has something for everyone, this is a great place to try while you’re in town.
Drink
It might be niche, but Lubbock has a fierce drink game. Whether you prefer wine, cocktails or coffee, the Hub City has many must-try places in the beverage department.
Since Lubbock grows so many grapes for wine made across the state, you have plenty of wineries to choose from. Some are right near the vineyards, like English Newsom Cellars, while others, likeMcPherson Cellars downtown and Adelphos Cellars in South Lubbock, are closer to the city center. No matter where you go, this is a great wine-lover's vacation.
If wine isn’t your thing, or you’re not 21 just yet, Lubbock also has a thriving coffee shop community. We have so many local spots, each with its own unique menu and vibe, but they all offer a warm welcome. Monomyth Coffee on Broadway is a hot spot for locals and tourists alike. Whether you want a delicious vanilla latte, iced matcha or an outstanding cup of joe, Monomyth is the place to go.
Experience
Whether you’re here for a day or a week, there's a lot to explore in the Hub City. Lubbock has a lively music scene. Whether you’re dining out or catching a show around town, you'll have plenty of opportunities to hear amazing local artists.
Some of the best places to experience the Lubbock sound are in the Depot District. Country lovers, head to the Blue Light while you’re in town. The beer is cold; the dance floor is hot and you’re sure to have a great time at this iconic spot. Another great place to see a great performance is the historic Cactus Theater. From solo artists to tribute bands, you're sure to hear music you love here. You can see upcoming shows throughout Lubbock here.
