A number of hotels are currently in the works in Lubbock, including a few set to open later this spring. On the list of hotels under development are the Arbor Hotel and Conference Center, Hyatt Place in the Overton area, Home2 Suites by Hilton in the Canyon West shopping area, SpringHill Suites and a Best Western on the northwest side of the city. A number of other properties are in the permitting process as well.
The new development comes on the heels of the opening of the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown, which was completed in September 2014. The Courtyard is near Texas Tech University and less than five minutes from the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center. On-site at the Courtyard are three meeting rooms with a total of 3,836 square feet of event space. Increased demand is contributing to hotel development in Lubbock as the corporate, association, leisure and sports markets continue to grow.
From five award-winning wineries and live music rocking out almost every night to one-of-a-kind museums and unique meeting spaces, Lubbock is an ideal location to host your next meeting or event. Because of this wide variety of attractions and events, it’s no wonder that Lubbock is the 7th most visited Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) in Texas, and visitors keep coming back for more. We believe it’s due to our easy access via car or plane as well as the abundance of cultural and historical sites and activities that keep our city bustling.
When it comes to hospitality, the Visit Lubbock Team delivers it in the smallest of details. From warm welcomes and a dedicated staff to one-of-a-kind venues and savory cuisine, we show our guests what the West Texas experience is all about.
