Humbly Hip in the “Hub City”
Confession: I could spend hours (and probably my whole paycheck) at Chrome, so when I found out I’d be blogging about it this month, I was practically giddy. (It’s a beautiful thing when work and passion collide). Last month I wrote about my inherited shopping spree prowess, and in Lubbock there is no better place to expand your wardrobe than at this local boutique. Located on 19th Street across from Texas Tech University, Chrome has cemented itself as a prime shopping destination for the fashion forward within the “Hub City.” When my friends from 0ut of town pay me a visit, I always plan to pop into Chrome at some point in the itinerary and no one ever leaves without a purchase and an Instagram follow. There’s a reason this local favorite was named one of Shop Across Texas’ Best Shops in Town. If you’ve never stopped by to check out their impressive and equally stylish inventory, here’s a quick look at some of the things you’ll find.
Texas gals love their jeans. Even though my school days are behind me, I still continue my time-honored tradition of investing in a few new pairs each fall. The best denim is buttery soft, flatters your figure and can be dressed up or down depending on current mood or occasion. Chrome’s selection is sure to contain your new favorite pair, and you’ll never have to shudder when you hear the words “jeans shopping” ever again.
An Extensive Jewelry Inventory
From dainty everyday pieces to the show-stopping statement necklaces, Chrome definitely delivers in the jewelry department. You can never have too many accessories, right?
Last month I was looking for a pair of shoes to wear with a boho bridesmaid dress, and the ladies at Chrome did not disappoint. They suggested a gorgeous pair of Free People heels that were a perfect match, and for the first time since elementary school, I wore my new shoes out of the store. If you stop by for nothing else, browse their carefully curated shoe selection. It’s chockfull of brands like Sam Edelman, Dolce Vita, Jeffery Campbell, Frye and Steve Madden.
Once you’ve browsed the clothing racks, jewelry and tried on a few pairs of shoes, don’t miss out on Chrome’s eclectic mix of home decor. They have so many unique items that would put the cherry on top of any well-designed space. My personal favorite is their throw pillow selection, and did I mention there is an entire wall of candles back there?
It’s my personal ambition to give the most unique or hilarious card at any given celebration. Chrome is stocked with enough paper pretties for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays and “just because” sentiments to get you through the whole year.
This week, stop by, have a look and pick out something pretty. Your closet will thank you. I’d love to hear about your Chrome finds, so be sure to share with #LiveLoveLubbock on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Happy shopping!
