Lubbock Loves Valentine’s Day
Love. Amor. Amore. Liebe. 愛
No matter how you say it, there are plenty of ways to express your feelings for the one you love.
With the help of our local love birds on our Facebook page, we’d like to share some places that evoke the feelings that give you butterflies and make you weak in the knees. Whatever that feeling may be, here are some suggestions for a special Valentine’s Day in the “Hub City”.
La Diosa or “The Goddess,” is a perfect example of what a night on the town looks like. Fellas, if you’re listening, this is the place to take the goddess in your life. Located at 901 17th St., in the heart of the Depot Entertainment District, La Diosa combines the perfect mix of chic styling with an inviting atmosphere. Known for their decadent tapas and savory sangria, they recently updated their menu with tons of new items. It’s the perfect place to spend an entire evening or as a night cap while sharing a piece of their Sinful Chocolate Truffle Cake.
Ah, Stella’s. For more than 30 years, Stella’s has provided Lubbock with authentic Italian dishes that get better with every bite.
Their menu features everything from pasta to succulent steaks. No matter what you decide to indulge in, Stella’s is always spot on. Need reservations? No problem. Call ahead to make sure you get a table at one of the most romantic places in town.
You know what I love about Rain Uptown? Minimal distractions. It’s small and intimate, but the delicate lighting puts the emphasis on you. When you dine at Rain Uptown, the most important thing will be the person sitting across from you. A close second, is their awesome menu.
The Choc’late Mousse Pie Bar
It’s pie with a twist. Instead of slices, the Choc’late Mousse Pie Bar (4210 82nd St.) has created a menu full of heavenly flavors of pie fillings. If you are looking to go over the top on the sweetness scale, the Pie Bar is an absolute must.
Holly Hop Ice Cream Shoppe
With a vintage jukebox playing in the corner and a rockabilly feel, Holly Hop Ice Cream Shoppe is yet another cool spot for a date night here in Lubbock.
Try one scoop, two or even three of your favorite frozen flavors. Or you can get fancy and sample one of their sundaes with tons of delicious toppings. No matter what you choose, you’ll always leave with a smile.
Do you have any other spots you’d like to add to the list? We’d love to hear all of your suggestions from you and your sweetie.
