Peter Briggs, TTU Museum, Helen DeVitt Jones Curator of Art
How to Acquire the Most Incredible Works of Art Ever Created, aka 21st Century Curating
Contemporary curating is about collecting, caring for and interpreting works of art. Peter Briggs, a museum-based curator for four decades, will present an insider’s view of this profession for anyone who appreciates or holds in high regard works of art…viewers, artists, collectors, writers, onlookers, and others. Briggs will confront the always perplexing issues and never-ending quandaries: what is good art, who says so, and does it have value?
Saturday Lectures at LHUCA is an informal conversation over the life and work of contemporary artists. It’s a stress-free opportunity to examine the art and ideas that underlie much of the modern art world. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and join the conversation.
This event is free to the public.
Join us for coffee and donuts!
