Lubbock Book Festival
Join LHUCA at the Lubbock Book Festival! There will be plenary headliners/panels of authors and concurrent, 30-minute sessions, held in 4 locations, with each location featuring a book type:
- Firehouse Theatre – for general trade books
- Lott Gallery – for poetry/literary books
- Graffiti Building – for Spanish-language books
- Icehouse – for children’s books

- [Studio Gallery – Live music / tables]
Organized in collaboration with Texas Tech University Press and Literary Lubbock, Lubbock Book Festival is the first all-day celebration of artistic excellence bringing together regional and national authors, poets, and literature enthusiasts to enjoy the best of the literary arts in Lubbock and the South Plains.
The Lubbock Book Festival will showcase 39 regional authors hosted across 20 panels throughout the day. The Festival will feature headline presentations by John R. Erickson, author of the Hank the Cowdog series of children’s books, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian S.C. Gwynne, Karen McCay, author the Magic Mommy series, nationally-acclaimed romance author Jodi Thomas and chef, filmmaker and scholar Adán Medrano.
Panels will be hosted throughout the day by authors of genres ranging from children’s storytelling to nonfiction to poetry and everything in-between. The Festival will take place on LHUCA’s and the Charles Adams Studio Project’s campuses in the heart of Lubbock’s cultural district.

Tickets for a luncheon and cooking demonstration by Adán Medrano and Angelina LaRue, as well as box lunches, are also available for online pre-order. A limited number of box lunches will be available for purchase on the LHUCA Plaza while supplies last. General admission to the Lubbock Book Festival is FREE to the public thanks to generous support by festival underwriters, including The CH Foundation, Civic Lubbock, Inc., Texas Commission on the Arts, Barnes & Noble Booksellers, Texas Tech University Press, Lonestar Literary Life, and YWCA Lubbock.
