Good morning and thank you for reaching out to us. There are a variety of off-campus housing that is near University and within a few miles of the campus at Texas Tech University. We would also suggest taking a moment to browse through this online apartment guide, http://www.apartmentguide.com/apartments/Texas/Lubbock/.
If there is anything else we can do for you, please contact via email at visitlubbock@gmail.com
Previous trips we went to the Buddy Holly Museum and Texas Tech Museum. Three things stand out about Lubbock, 1st, everyone we encountered was nice as could be. 2nd,it is a very clean town for its size and 3rd it’s very easy to navigate the streets.
Looking forward to our next visit.

My name is Adam Barnard from London, UK and I came to Lubbock for the 2nd time last February for the 5oth anniversary of Buddy’s death. I would like to thank Jordan Mcewan for making it possible for me to perform at the Blue Light in Buddy Holly Avenue on 3rd Feb 2009. I met Jordan by chance last year in April at the Blue Light. He became my best friend for the next 5 days and showed me around places and met some wonderful people in the process. When I told Jordan I was returning in Feb 09 for the anniversary he was happy to hear that. He picked me up from the Lubbock Airport and dropped me off at my motel Rodeway Inn on Q.
I would also like to give a big mention to everyone at the Lubbock Visitors Center for taking care of me and giving me goodies to take back to the UK. Thank you to: Leslie Matthews and PJ for running me around in their cars and showing me sights etc... The Pancake House is AWESOME!
I hope to be returning to Lubbock in the summer of 2010.
Ps. Thank you to the Buddy Holly center for being so helpful especially David Seitz.
Kind regards
Adam Barnard

I’m a dork. I love Lubbock. I moved there to go to school and met my husband there. I just have VERY fond memories of that place. I don’t know what it is about it but every I know feels the same. There’s magic in Lubbock and you have to know where to go to find it, and you have to know where to find the people. It’s not that hard because they’re everywhere!!! I live in Japan right now, but GOD nothing compares to Lubbock. I get to visit in 27 days. X)
My husband and I did the Depot District and loved it! Especially enjoyed La Diosa, a must do if you like good wine (Sangria is super), good music and getting to know people. There’s alot of different bar/restaurants in the Depot District so plan on taking your time.
Coming back to Lubbock always reminds me of how life OUGHT to be. I’m so thankful for my West Texas roots. Now a native Houstonian it’s the annual trip to Lubbock that I look forward to the most. I left Lubbock 24 years ago and it’s Lubbock that I long for every Summer. About 7 years ago my wife was giving me a hard time about Lubbock. "Lubbock this, Lubbock that, what possibly could be the big deal about Lubbock?" So later that week I announced to my family that part of this years family vacation would be spent in Lubbock. Lets just say it didn’t go over so well, but I stuck to my guns. Our first trip to Lubbock was July 4th, 2001. 4th On Broadway... I mean come on, does it get any better than that?! This event defines Lubbock in my opinion. The entire community is involved, friends, laughter, excitement, down home feeling, everyone knows someone. It’s the best free street party I’ve ever been to. Picnic at McKenzie Park is priceless. We get to the Park about 4 P.M. every year, throw out our blankets close to the water. Football, Frisbee, Family & Friends make for a rememberable afternoon every time. This year I ran into two childhood friends that I haven’t seen or heard from since I left Lubbock. One lives in L.A. and one in Houston, they to come home for the 4th as well. We all three talked about the great things we learned about life being raised in Lubbock. We talked about Reverence for God. It seems that Lubbock has never swayed from it’s reverence (move away from Lubbock & you’ll see what I’m talking about). We talked about Respect & Responsibility for authority and others. We just got home last night from our 5 days in Lubbock & already my kids and wife are talking about next year. I love it! Oh, BTW my wife fell in love with Lubbock 7 years ago, some of you probably already figured that out. Thank God for my Lubbock Roots!
