New in Lubbock – July

This month as we celebrated Independence Day with fireworks and fanfare, sought out ways to beat the heat and looked for ways to wander off the beaten path, a few more businesses opened their doors here in the “Hub City.” Here’s a look at what’s new in Lubbock.

Vitality Bowls
Follow a blogger, a foodie or a fitness account on Instagram, and you’ve likely seen a photo or two of smoothie bowl goodness. Now you can order up one of your own at Vitality Bowls. Chock full of mostly organic ingredients, fruits and veggies, each smoothie bowl packs a big nutritional punch, and they’re as awesome to eat as they are to Instagram. Amazing Lash Studio
Every woman at some point in time has stood in front of drugstore displays and Sephora samples trying to determine which magic mascara formula would curl, lengthen, add volume, or otherwise transform their natural lashes. If you’re ready to commit to a slightly more permanent solution, see the stylists at Amazing Lash Studio. Whether you’re looking for something natural or an option to rival the Kardashian clan, you’re sure to find a fabulous option. (Location: 4210 82nd Street, Ste #201)

The Ruffled Cup
I’ve never met a cupcake I didn’t like, and when a friend introduced me to The Ruffled Cup, I knew I would be a frequent visitor. Whether you’re a cupcake purist that prefers vanilla or red velvet or more experimental tastes (think peanut butter cup or rocky road) they have a wide assortment of flavors to accommodate every taste. And each day they offer a Baker’s Choice Cupcake. As of this write-up, I’m staring down a photo of today’s choice while subsequently making places to stop by. How can you say no to vanilla sponge cake, stuffed with buttercream, topped with butter cream with a Twinkie that looks like a minion? Exactly. (Location: 5109 82nd Street, Ste #10)

Dauphine
One of the most recent restaurants to open their doors is Dauphine, bringing a Cajun flair to the “Hub City.” Located on Buddy Holly, this local join serves up favorites like catfish, shrimp, burgers, po’ boys, jambalaya and gumbo. (Location: 1939 Buddy Holly Ave.)

Cycle Bar
This is not your normal cycling class. With a room of over 40 bikes, choose your seat and get ready to ride into the newest craze in fitness. Cycle Bar classes are 50 minutes worth of fresh music, a little healthy competition and one great workout! (Location: 7604 Milwaukee Avenue, Ste #700)

Know of any places we missed? We’d love to hear from you! And as always, if you’re out and about in the “Hub City” trying the newest local cuisine, be sure to snap a photo and share with #LiveLoveLubbock! Happy exploring!
