New In Lubbock – December 2015

During the Visit Lubbock Team’s weekly meetings it’s as certain as death, taxes and prairie dogs that someone will brag about trying out the newest hot spot in town. After passing our phone around with pictures, we will usually plan a group trip. We’ll bet you and your friends play this game as well, and with so many places opening each month, it can be hard to keep up. That’s where we come in.

At the beginning of each month, Erin and I will be sharing some of the newest places to grub, drink, relax or play in the “Hub City.”

This month we had it easy, with the West End Shopping Center opening up. Located between 19th Street and 34th Street off of the West Loop, this classy center is quickly becoming a hub for retail and eateries on the west side of town. It’s not just a place to shop, but also a place for community with fountains, greenery and plenty of outdoor seating.

just do it

  • Nike Factory: The centerpiece of the West End offers a large selection of running, training and sports gear from one of America’s favorite brands. Nike sure is repping the city with “LUBBOCK” mounted on two walls in channel lettering.
  • Charming Charlie: Charming Charlie’s goal is to help ladies “master their glam style,” with a selection of fashion accessories, arranged by color to make shopping an ease. One can find the newest trends in shoes, jewelry, handbags and other accessories alongside stylists to tie it all together.
  • Banana Republic Factory: The daughter company to GAP (also at the West End), this safari-themed store has everything guys and gals need when it comes to denim, dresses, work wear and shoes at outlet prices.
  • pie five farmers marketPie Five: I went to the soft opening on Tuesday (look right: bragging), and this pizza does not disappoint. Pie Five offers personal pies with unique recipes like the Farmer’s Market, which has Tuscan marinara, mushrooms, spinach, peppers, onions and roasted tomatoes. Don’t let the veggies scare you; you can also find the High Five, which includes pepperoni, Italian sausage, bacon, ham and beef.

Other stores now open at the West End include: Cabela’s Outpost, Marshalls, HomeGoods, GAP, Torrid, Skechers, Dressbarn and Chipotle. There are plenty of new stores planning their grand openings in the near future, so stay on the lookout as we showcase the new spots opening up all around town.
