Lubbock Shopping Spotlight: Holiday Gift Guide
With Thanksgiving a mere two weeks from now and Christmas festivities rapidly approaching, I am in peak holiday-planning mode. I’m finalizing family visits to Lubbock, marking holiday events down on the calendar, training for the Carol of Lights 5K and, of course, Christmas shopping for family and friends. I know people say, “it’s the thought that counts,” but with all the shops our fair city has to offer, it’s easier than ever to find the absolutely perfect gifts. We’ve rounded up a few places that are sure to have something for everyone, including that impossibly-hard-to-shop-for relative on your list (You know who they are).
This trendy boutique is home to everything from sequins, sweaters and ankle boots–perfect for the fashion forward females in your life. They also have a great selection of bangles and baubles, both dainty and bold that are the perfect surprise for anyone digging into their stocking on Christmas morning.
I’ve already admitted that I could spend my entire paycheck here, and when the holidays roll around, I spend it shopping for everyone else! When I can finally pull myself away from the shoe displays, I always find something perfect for my closest friends: something for their kitchen, a great piece of jewelry, funky-yet-stylish sunglasses or a candle that smells as good as it looks. Bonus: Chrome carries my absolute favorite cards. It’s my personal ambition to give the best yuletide sentiments, and Chrome has plenty of paper pretties that pair perfectly with any gift.
HollyHocks Gifts & Necessities
HollyHocks is my one-stop gift shop. They have the absolute best selection of Vera Bradley gear, and carry an assortment of things for the men in your life. They carry the Jack Black products (think skincare, not actor), utilitarian White Wing canvas bags and the classic, monogram-worthy Jon Hart bags.
For the Texas Tech Fan
Add a little school spirit to your holiday celebrations and pick up something for your Red Raider fan! At Lubbock staples such as The Matador, Red Raider Outfitters and Varsity Bookstore, you’ll find everything you need to be the ultimate super fan all year round. Check ‘em out for jerseys, shirts, tailgate essentials and even cold weather gear.
Confession: most of the impossible-to-shop-for relatives on my list are men. After doing a post this month on Mountain Hideaway, I know it will be my go-to for everyone from my brother to my boyfriend. Mountain Hideaway is chock-full of gadgets and gear to outfit all their outdoor escapades from hiking to camping to fly-fishing.
In case you missed it, the Nike Factory store in West End Shopping Center is officially open, making it one of the best places in town to grab gear for the all-stars and athletes on your list!
There’s nothing like watching your friends and family tear into a gift you know they’ll love and appreciate. However you choose to shop around the “Hub City,” I hope you find everything you’re looking for! Happy shopping!
