Liven Up Your Next Event in the “Hub City”

As any good conference planner knows, the time set aside for group activities needs to be unique to the location and interesting for your attendees.  Not everyone may join a 6 a.m. yoga session (although we have every intention to), so we’ve provided a few suggestions for additional activities during your next event in Lubbock. But before you question whether or not you want to take on the additional expense, remember social outings are a great opportunity for networking and group discussion. Your conference attendees will appreciate the organic, informal setting!

  1. Practice Your Swing at The Range

This venue is the perfect place for golf lovers and enthusiasts alike. Whether your attendees want to take a swing from one of 60 golf tees or sit back and enjoy a night filled with live music, The Range sets the stage for guests to take in a beautiful West Texas sunset. Not to mention, the venue has outdoor games, drinks and Crusty’s Wood Fired Pizza.

  1. Take a Scenic Walk at Lubbock Lake Landmark

What better way to begin or end a day of meetings than a group nature walk? Take your event outdoors at the Lubbock Lake Landmark and experience the Yellow House Canyon. On this 3-mile trail, your guests will walk through a piece of history as the archeological findings from the site date back 12,000 years. As with most outdoor venues in Lubbock, the sunset is remarkable.

  1. Gather for Yoga in the Plaza

“Namaste in bed” is often how I feel about an early morning workout session, but there is something different about having a yoga class outside. If your event is in July or August, Yoga in the Plaza is a great way to kick off a Saturday morning and harness energy for the rest of the day. At 9 a.m. every Saturday in the summer, people gather in the Buddy and Maria Elena Holly Plaza to stretch their bodies and refresh their minds. Guests will need to bring a towel or their own yoga mat.

  1. Team Up for a Friendly Game of Paintball

Paintball isn’t for the weak, and it proves time and again to be a good test in teamwork. At Elite Paintball, there are five different fields to choose from and all the supplies needed for a fun time running, dodging and splattering paint all over the place are provided. Groups can book private paintball events on weekdays with advance notice with reservations for up to 75 people.

  1. Try Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Your group will have a blast stand-up paddle boarding in Lubbock, one of our city’s newest activities, thanks to SUPLBK. A unique way to enjoy the outdoors, your attendees will soak up the West Texas sun on the cool waters of Dunbar Historic Lake. Large group events and even private lessons can be booked.
