The Life and Art of The Wyeth Family with Christian Conrad
511 Avenue K
Lubbock, TX 79401
Saturday Lectures at LHUCA is an informal conversation over the life and work of contemporary artists. It’s a stress-free opportunity to examine the art and ideas that underlie much of the modern art world. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and join the conversation. Join LHUCA for coffee and donuts as they discuss the life and art of the Wyeth family.
Often thought of as the American art family, the Wyeths are a multigenerational group of artists. The discussion begins with N.C. Wyeth, a famous illustrator who constructed our modern interpretation of pirates, among other images. His children, led by Andrew Wyeth, each pursued a different direction in the arts. In addition, N.C. Wyeth’s daughters Henriette and Carolyn also painted in their own unique styles. A third generation is found in Jamie Wyeth, who continues his father Andrew’s tradition of realistic painting.
This event is free to the public, and brought to you by LHUCA and The CH Foundation.
