Mary Cassatt (1844-1926) was an American artist who was one of the Impressionists. Cassatt broke boundaries of culture and gender. Her paintings and pastels focused on subjects of intimacy, particularly the bond found between mothers and their children. In addition to having close relationships with many of the Impressionist artists, Mary Cassatt was also key in bringing this new form of art to America and helped form important collections at many major museums.

Saturday Lectures at LHUCA is an informal conversation over the life and work of contemporary artists. It’s a stress-free opportunity to examine the art and ideas that underlie much of the modern art world. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and join the conversation. Enjoy coffee and donuts as well.  This event is brought to you by LHUCA and The CH Foundation.
