David Hockney born 1937
One of the premier artists of the British Pop Art movement, Hockney’s art continues to reflect modern ideas and technology. Living partially in Southern California, Hockney’s most famous images show the suburban lifestyle of backyard pools and sunny blue skies. David Hockney was one of the first major artists to use an iPad as a method of creating images. With a constantly changing style, David Hockney is also famous for his investigations into the historic use of the Camera Obscura. His most recent investigation involves the ideas of “reverse perspective,” an idea originated by Russian mathematician Pavel Florensky.
Saturday Lectures at LHUCA are informal conversations over the life and work of contemporary artists. It’s a stress-free opportunity to examine the art and ideas that underlie much of the modern art world. Attendees are encouraged to ask questions and join the conversation.

This event is free to the public.
