Cinco de Mayo Parade of Lubbock

For the 6th year in Lubbock, Los Hermanos Familia and Latino Lubbock Magazine are proud to announce that they will hold the official Cinco de Mayo Parade of Lubbock on Saturday, May 5, 2018! The local parade will kick off celebrations all over Lubbock and West Texas.
The 6th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade of Lubbock will begin on Avenue V, moving east on historic Broadway to the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
Line-up will be at 9 a.m., the parade begins at 10 a.m. and welcomes all of the Lubbock community and surrounding areas to take part as participants or as spectators.
Collectively, many organizations, media, and supporters work for the benefit of unifying the community, and building awareness about the Cinco de Mayo holiday, as well as the rich cultural observances and heritage of the Hispanic community of Lubbock and the South Plains.
Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for “fifth of May”) is a celebration held on May 5. It is celebrated in the United States and in Mexico, primarily in the state of Puebla, where the holiday is called El Día de la Batalla de Puebla (English: The Day of the Battle of Puebla). Mexican Americans also often see the day as a source of pride, one way they can honor their ethnicity is to celebrate this day.
