Dia de los Muertos Comes to Lubbock

Tonight we will celebrate Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) with a special Procesión at the Buddy Holly Center. Dating back to the days of the Aztecs, Dia de los Muertos is a colorful and vibrant celebration for those that have left us in body, but remain with us in spirit.

Dia de los MuertosThe Buddy Holly Center will feature a special Procesión, which will coincide with the 110th consecutive First Friday Art Trail from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The evening will include a special gallery adorned with artwork, altars, or ofrendas, a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres . You can even try your hand at making your own calavara mask. If that wasn’t enough, Zarco Guerrerowill perform an original one-man play in Meadows Courtyard from 8 – 9:30 p.m.
