I don’t know about you, but sometimes a glass of wine with a tasty dinner is just what I need after a long day. Thankfully, I’ll get to taste and bring home a variety of wines this weekend at the 2nd Annual Wines & Vines Festival hosted at McPherson Cellars!
Guest entry is $20 for one day (including 10 tickets) or $30 for two days (including 20 tickets). Tickets are used for a complimentary 1 oz tasting of wine (one ticket) or a 5 oz glass of wine (five tickets) from any of the participating wineries. A commemorative wine glass is given with each entry so no need to bring your own! All entrance fee proceeds go to Lubbock Meals On Wheels and The Texas Wine & Grape Foundation. (See additional ticket info at the bottom of the post.)
Join the party from 4 – 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2 or from noon – 10 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. I can’t wait to try out the 18 Texas wineries that will be in attendance! Along with some Texas wine tasting, attendees can enjoy live music, local food and the Hub City Master Chef Competition.
The Hub City Master Chef Competition features eight chefs striving to be a winner by creating their own culinary masterpiece! Each chef has a list of standard pantry ingredients, which they know in advance, and a mystery box of ingredients, which they don’t know. All chefs have the same mystery box and will have to create a dish with all of the ingredients combined in 45 minutes time. Judges will be on hand to taste the treats and crown a winner.
Here’s a breakdown of the weekend’s events if you’d like to attend during a specific time. (I can’t wait for the Shrimp & Wine Pairing!)
