Are you the next Ironman?

After getting an up-close-and-personal look at last year’s Ironman 70.3 at Buffalo Springs Lake, I knew triathlons were hard, but not that tough! I got thirsty by just watching them swim, bike and run up, down and around the lake. It was unreal! But, hey, that’s what separates these athletes from the regular weekend warrior types like myself.

This year’s event, which is scheduled for Sunday, June 29, is not going to be any different. Known for it’s long and winding roads, steep climbs and of course, the dry summer heat, the Ironman 70.3 is actually a favorite among many athletes because of its ability to challenge the most gifted triathletes in the world.

If you are brave enough to tackle the Ironman 70.3 at Buffalo Springs Lake, you still have time to register.

Fast Facts:

When: Sunday, June 29. Get there before 7 a.m. if you plan to park and get a good spot to watch.

Where: Buffalo Springs Lake, 9999 High Meadow Road

Cost: FREE to spectate. Registration costs vary.

Until then, here are some of my favorite photos from last year’s event. Enjoy!
